2025 Garbage Collection Days and Holidays
Garbage collection for the entire Borough will be collected every Friday.
However, when County Hauling celebrates a Holiday during the week, it will delay our collection one day later that week.
The 2025 Holiday Weeks that are affected are as follows:
- New Years Day - Saturday, January 4th
- Memorial Day- Saturday, May 31st
- 4th of July- Saturday, July 5th
- Labor Day- Saturday, September 6th
- Thanksgiving- Saturday, November 29th
- Christmas- Saturday, December 27th

Garbage Guidelines
Guidelines for Garbage Collection: Trash and recycling must be out the night before your collection day, or prior to 6AM on the day of collection. All trash and recycling containers, as well as bulk items, must be within 5 feet of the curb. There will be a limit of 15 bags of trash and 1 bulk item per house per week. Garbage should be properly secured in containers or plastic bags.

Recycling material will be collected every other week on the following dates:
- January 4, 17 & 31
- February 14 & 28
- March 14 & 28
- April 11 & 25
- May 9 & 23
- June 6 & 20
- July 5 & 18
- August 1, 15 & 29
- September 12 & 26
- October 10 & 24
- November 7 & 21
- December 5 & 19
To be a good recycler, please begin making the following recycling changes immediately: Glass is now accepted: clear, brown, blue and green glass containers are accepted. Types 3-7 plastics are no longer recyclable
Recycle only #1PET or #2HDPE empty plastic bottles, cans, paper and cardboard (no pizza boxes). Keep foods, liquids and plastic bags out of recycling. Your recyclables should be emptied directly into your recycling bin.
DO NOT BAG YOUR RECYCLABLES. County Hauling will NOT accept recyclables in any type of plastic bags. Materials MUST be placed loose in your recycling bin.
Plastic retail bags should be taken to your local retailer to recycle. ONLY RECYCLE clear, brown, blue and green glass containers, plastic bottles, jars and jugs labeled as #1PET or #2HDPE plastic in your curbside recycling bin.

Only Leaves Placed In Biodegradable Paper Bags Will Be Picked Up.
A dumpster for YARD WASTE ONLY will be available to residents the first Saturday of each month, May thru the end of September. This dumpster will be located in Mowry Park #4 parking lot. Yard waste in biodegradable bags or no bag at all is acceptable. Yard waste includes: grass, leaves, hedge and tree trimmings less than 3" in diameter.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2013: A NEW LAW PROHIBITS LANDFILLS FROM RECEIVING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
TV'S AND COMPUTER EQUIPMENT. COMPUTER EQUIPMENT INCLUDES LAPTOPS, MONITORS, CPU'S, PRINTERS, SCANNERS, KEYBOARD, MOUSES, SPEAKERS, CABLE AND BATTERY BACKUPS. THESE ITEMS WILL NOT BE PICKED UP BY COUNTY HAULING
Wastewater (Sewage) Billing: Pleasant Hills Borough residents are billed monthly for wastewater (sewer) charges.
